Maren Perry, president of New York City-based Arden Coaching, will be conducting a pre-conference workshop on June 16, 2018, for senior level human resource executives at SHRM18, the Society for Human Resource Management’s annual conference in Chicago.
Perry’s workshop, Critical Coaching Techniques for HR Professionals, will provide in-depth learning about how to create coaching conversations, with specific techniques for creating development plans, and holding employees accountable.
“So many different responsibilities end up on HR’s desk,” said Perry, “from payroll to employee disputes to developing the next generation of leaders for the succession plan. While there are great places to go to learn about a new payroll program, or how to word a performance review, there are no great places for human resource professionals to go to learn about true coaching techniques.”
Perry developed her workshop to fill that gap. “Arden Coaching works hand-in-hand with HR professionals every day. I see how they try to navigate what is the Wild West out there in terms of coaching — so much information, and not all of it good.”
A highly experienced executive coach with an impressive track record of success, Perry will use the International Coach Federation’s Core Coaching Competencies to provide attendees a new tool box of skills to use with employees including: deepening listening skills, creating awareness, asking powerful questions, planning developmental projects, and creating accountability.
