Arden Coaching is delighted to announce that it has renewed its commitment to support Astia, a nonprofit organization serving women entrepreneurs world-wide. Astia is a community of experts dedicated to leveling the playing field for women entrepreneurs by providing access to capital, professional connections and networks, and advice and mentorship.
Arden Coaching will donate a percentage of its annual proceeds to Astia. Maren Perry, president of Arden Coaching, said, “As a female entrepreneur myself, I have a strong connection to Astia’s mission. I want to help make it possible for more women to become involved in entrepreneurship, and to attain high-level executive leadership positions. This helps address an important gap in the workplace.” Arden Coaching’s corporate mission and values call for the allocation of a portion of its annual proceeds to charity.
Astia is having a significant impact. In addition to connecting and mentoring high potential women entrepreneurs, Astia created its own venture angels network. In early 2013, Astia launched Astia Angels, enabling members of the Astia community to invest directly into companies in the Astia pipeline. Astia Angels is now a premier global angel network, investing in companies with inclusive executive teams.
Recently, Astia Angels announced its fourth exit, the acquisition of nVision by Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX) for $150 million, and up to an additional $125 million in potential clinical and commercial milestones over the next four years. Other exits include Boku, a US-based fintech company listed on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM), in November 2017; Cloudamize, a Philadelphia-based cloud computing analytics company which merged last summer with Blackstone-owned Cloudreach; and Ciel Medical, a medical device company that developed a catheter to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia and a second product to accurately place ventilation tubes, which was acquired by Vyaire Medical in April, 2017.
The return to investors in these first four exits has exceeded the high end of Astia’s expectations. Astia Angels has also just completed its 85th investment.
“Arden Coaching is excited to be a part of something that truly moves the needle for women in entrepreneurship and venture capital,” said Perry. “As an executive coach, I see the need and the opportunity for women executives and leaders, and the institutional hurdles they face to reach their full potential. Astia is a powerful, innovative, and effective resource for women entrepreneurs.”
