To Achieve Greatness You Must Find Your Way Around The Obstacles

Happy Birthday today to Michael Jordon – Basketball Superstar!

If you’re trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I’ve had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. – Michael Jordon

As we move into March Madness I am reminded of one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Michael Jordan.   But Michael wasn’t always great and he didn’t even make his high school varsity team on the first try.   He tried out for the team in his sophomore team and was cut from the try outs due to his height.   Michael a very determined young man, even then, trained rigorously over the next year and earned a spot the next year on the varsity squad where as a senior he was selected to the McDonald’s All American team, averaging a triple-double: 29.2 points, 11.6 rebounds and 10.1 assists.

He went on to play College basketball for North Carolina, and was named ACC Freshman of the Year.  He then played in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls from 1984-1993 establishing himself as one of the best basketball players of all time.

There were many road blocks and obstacles along his path to success but Michael’s continued ability to face these challenges and find ways around them allowed him to achieve many great honors and rewards for his hard work.
